FANS WEIGH-IN
In a questionable play-calling season-opening win at Edmonton, the Roughriders are sliding into Week 2 with a Win but without a starting quarterback.
Roughrider fans had much to say about the Green and White’s nailbiting Week 1 performance. Some raved about the game’s “defense,” and others said it was “close,” “great,” and, of course, a “WIN!”
In terms of performance, more than half of those surveyed attributed the home opener win to the ‘defensive line’ (63%). Other strengths included ‘stopping the run’ *ahem, defence!* (30%) and the ‘team chemistry’ (21%) this year. It looks like the boys have added some fuel to their fire!
Fans reported on areas the Riders could work on based on their performance against the Elks.
For example, though Harris finished 20-of-33 passing for 179 yards with a touchdown, those surveyed said the passing (24%) could continue to use some work. And with two interceptions in his regular-season debut, fans agree that turnovers (23%) were also a potential concern.
A win’s a win, am I right!?
Let’s hear what the fans had to say about the favourable factors of Week 1:

Let’s hear what the fans had to say about the unfavourable factors of Week 1:

GREY CUP CONFIDENCE INDEX
Roughrider fans are soaring after that win, with the first Grey Cup Confidence Index (GCCI) reporting a +38 – one of the lowest reporting GCCI scores since Let’s Go Riders’ inception. While still hopeful, Roughrider fans may hesitate to give the Roughriders their total vote of confidence. Let’s see what Week 2 brings us!
