WEEK 3: RIDERS STAY UNBEATEN WITH A WALK-OFF WIN

Final Score: Saskatchewan 39 – Toronto 32
Record: 3–0
Fan Outlook Score: 8.0/10
Next Opponent: BC Lions (Week 4)
Prediction: 93% say we take the win.

💥 MARIO ALFORD WALKS IT OFF

The Riders stayed perfect in the most dramatic fashion: a game-winning kick-return touchdown from Mario Alford with seconds left on the clock. Alford racked up 243 return yards, setting the tone all night and proving why he’s one of the most dangerous special-teams players in the league.

Alford’s last-touch heroics sealed our first win at BMO Field since 2019 and capped a wild finish to an otherwise confident performance by the Green & White.

🧃 OFFENCE BALANCED, BACKFIELD DOMINANT

Despite missing key offensive threats, the Riders brought depth and grit:

  • Dohnte Meyers stepped up with 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including a monster 60-yard catch-and-run.
  • A.J. Ouellette made the most of his return to Toronto, punching out 91 rushing yards and a 25-yard score on his first carry.

Behind them, backup QB Tommy Stevens and RB Thomas Bertrand-Hudon chipped in, helping Saskatchewan notch 144 total rushing yards. It was a throwback-style attack, grounded and gutsy.

🚩 PENALTIES STILL A CONCERN

Let’s not sugar-coat it: 18 penalties nearly cost us the game. The Argos tied it up late, and against a deeper opponent, that might’ve ended differently.

If the Riders want to stay undefeated against a strong BC Lions squad, discipline needs to tighten up fast.
